Complex Numbers Adding & Subtracting

When adding and subtracting complex numbers you combine the like terms. The real terms get combined and the imaginary terms (containing i) get combined.
(a+bi)+(c+di)=(a+c)+(b+d)i
(a+bi)(c+di)=(ac)+(bd)i
